Benjamin Blackburn began Eve Alley as a conflagration of his brother's marketplace and the company he kept at the haunted boarding house. Where was a zombie to go for sewing needles to keep his arms intact? Or a mummy to find extra wrappings? Surely there was a need for other less-than-savory objects to be bought and sold without the negative reactions that many witches and wizards would give them.
Initially he hesitated to give life to the idea, knowing that the marketplace was the purview of his brother, but once he accepted the fact that even macabre creatures required help to have their needs met, not to mention make a living, he embraced it. Mortimer agreed, and Eve Alley has been a staple at all of Master Mortimer's Magical Marketplaces ever since!
